ummm

I have heard this song before...
i just don't know where

I dont know if you remixed another song but if you did you should really notify the previous author and deal with it unless that arping synth in the background is a sample in which case this song is pretty weak. personally i liked the other version i heard better. It was more interesting. If you did remix this song it should really have the name of the original.

no hard feelings dude doing things that have been done before often gathers critical analysis. I hope to hear more music from you.

Spoony18 responds:

Im not too sure what to say to you but this song was made by myself. No sounds or melodies were taken from anyone but myself. I remixed this song from an Original song that " I ", myself made. so ummmm. yea man, thanks for the concern n stuff but that was probably something you shoulld have just PM'd me. thanks though.

hooray ambient breaks

ambient breaks is a pretty torn up genre but you definetely made a good song here

a 10 and a dl from me this song is awsome

ps: i love the bongo drums their such a subtle touch

Gillenium responds:

Ambient breaks.. you know, I've never thought of it like that, but you're right! I guess I've been hanging around NG too long, which doesn't have NEARLY enough genres to accomidate everything. It's no wonder the Misc. section is so large, lol. Thanks for the review!

sry dude

I really wish this song didnt have a 1 minute intro. I mean it's full well ok to make this kinda stuff i know im not into it but does it really need an intro that long? Am I the only one who thinks that having one loud pompous anthem blaring for a good full minute is not a good way to start a song.

Not only that the song just feels empty. like there is no bass line no depth no flavor just an anthem playing over and over again with drums. It's like drinking water with a lot of sugar in it.

I really wish i could find something appealing about this song to me but i just can't

Dj-UnKnOwN responds:

No problem man, constructive criticism dude it's alright, most people may like something but that doesnt mean everyone does. I suppose your right that the intro was long but you have to know that i was going for that. For it to be really long in the beginning to just end up all split up, drums, bass, and kick. this song was one of my better beginning ones cause at the time that i made this song, i was so used to doing arps, but then i got this melody, and i remade it ([Dj-U] Happiness remix) and it was a big success.

Respect your opinion man. and thanks for the review

I hope this works for you

to me this is not a good trance song. I wish i could tell ya i like it but i dont. it's not nearly as bad as most epic trance on newgrounds in the top 50.

I'll admit I have a soft spot for some anthem trance it's what i started listening to trance on and i regret it most of the time when i listen to some of the cheesy shit that people come up with from it. This song makes me reconsider and want to listen to a few epic songs again.

At least the progression is at a perfect pace and the builds aren't toooo overbearing.... and the breakdowns aren't boring and are used sparingly.

keep writing dude

CrimzonWolf777 responds:

meh...thx for the review i guess....

great song

progressive trance is a little dated but its great that you brought something great back. This song tripped me out a little its giving me a buzzy feeling.

the echoey bass is a nice touch and the transitions are very even and fluent.

definetely the best song on the whole trance top 50 or w.e the first page is.
I wish more people made songs like this. 10 and a download from me.

keep fucking writing man.

Cutting-Christ responds:

Wow, thanks. ^_^

Well this is a good start

you need inspiration from the right places.

first thing

the 3xosc and its filters are your best friends. When in doubt the 3xosc always deliveres a trippy vibe in the right place for a trance song.

I would avoid epic sounding melodies except where absolutely applicable. Sometimes epic melodies can put that ooomph into the end or peak of a song.

If you want inspiration head over to the trance section of this guide to edm(electronic dance music). http://techno.org/electronic-music-gu ide/
itll give you some ground to put your feet on so you can create your own trance.

just to let you know builds and breakdowns and drums are the skeleton of trance. when you have too many bones the muscle and tissue gets distorted into odd positions and isnt as visually appealing. in laymans terms if you focus and rely too much on builds and breakdowns they ruin the song.

hasonish responds:

Thank you very much for the help.
I'll be sure to take your advice to heart, and I'll definitely take a good look at the guide.

I can hear what you mean by the builds and breakdowns, and the song sounds off because of it.

Again, thank you for the help.

Why remix the destruction of trance

robert miles practically started the downfall of trance.

Why would you want to remix this song? It's the worst example of trance ever.
The remix doesnt even help the song it made it worse. This remix is terrible... I just can't justify giving this thing anything at all the 303 lead clashes with the background bass and nothing seems to go together right. The Background piano barely fits the theme and it feels like you just threw in random melodies with no attention to scales or note coordination.

it sounds like you made every single part seperately and then tried to mash them together.

DJ-Prodigy responds:

Why review based on the genre and not on the song?

If you don't like Robert Miles, or think he created the "downfall of trance", then don't review my song at all.

There are no 303 leads in it whatsoever.

Nonetheless, there is a piece of "advice" in your review, and for that I thank you.

*DJ-P*

what is it with this artistic crap?

fuck who cares what it sounds like the point is this is good trance. god this song is actually trippy up until the point the melodies start kicking in. The piano is a nice temporary touch.

it's too bad the acid bass doesnt last and you go back to using epic melodies and piano's. but this song does shine for a few breif moments.

TheUnnamedHunter responds:

THIS is the kind of review I like. Thanks for all the advice, I'll keep it in mind

Amazing

everything a chiptune should be. Definetely worth every point of vote it gets. It's a pretty interesting song. The arps get kinda repetitive later on but i guess you could say it's kind of the songs style. It kind of gives that strange blippy feel.

keep fucking writing and if you want check out some of my chiptunes too.

I'd love to have a review by you for one of my songs.

keep fucking writing

BroderKubrick responds:

This one wasn't really intended to be a purist chiptune, some other songs I've written were leaning in that direction. It was just the simple sounds i was aiming for, because there is a lot of stuff going on at once, can't have the sounds themselves too complex.

Thanks for the review :3 I'll check some of your songs out =]

I created this account because my old account was littered with junk i couldn't get rid of
